June 1st – Intro to Spinning Workshop

Round up your best buds and join us for a Intro to Spinning Class! In this laid back fun workshop, we provide all of the materials for you to whip up your own yarn. No spinning experience necessary to jump in on this course. So feel free to stop in for a pressure free afternoon of yarn making with friends!
Plus you get to take home your wool and spindle at the end of class so you can continue practicing your new skill.

Skills you will learn
We will cover the different types of wool breeds and fiber processing techniques so you can purchase future fiber with confidence. The skills you will learn in the class are the concept of drafting yarn, using a top whorl drop spindle, maintaining twist along your yarn, and setting your yarn to create a balanced single ply skein of yarn. Students will receive a resource sheet and downloadable booklet to refer back to after the workshop.

Materials needed: None! We will provide everything for this course!
Materials provided: Top Whorl Drop Spindle and 4 oz of wool
